Writing and literature

Human beings are the only creatures we know of that can write. As we do so we can, if we're alert, find ourselves in an act of self-recognition as profound as anything we can experience.  If we watch for it our own wisdom will come out onto the page and remind us of the truths we have forgotten to ask for. We can read the writings of others for wisdom;  we can also read our own for insights that, otherwise, we might not even know we have.

If you're wondering about the picture on this page, I'll explain by pointing out that there are seven columns.  This means that there is one for each of the six archetypes, and since the final archetype of the Magician has to incorporate the first stage of the Innocent, it seemed to be a fitting image. After all, columns hold up heavy buildings, and we exist in the spaces between them, since we can't move through solid stone.  Just similarly we are all moving between archetypes, a blend of both aspects we are moving between.
