The level of debate….

Posted on | March 25, 2010 |

I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed the level of debate around the Health Care bill. It seems to have devolved to some rather ugly name calling and irrational hatred. And this, mark you, is between our elected officials, for at least some of the time. Of course there are always the street demonstrators, overwhelmingly against the bill, who spit and taunt and use the n-word to our president. Then there are the chants of ‘baby-killer’ in Congress, and so on….

After we pass this Health Care bill I’d suggest we spend heavily on education, as well. We have the money. We’re currently pouring it into Iraq and Afghanistan. Without some real education, and without a citizenry that can think logically, we may have a whole lot more troubles ahead.

Anyone who resorts to name-calling and considers it legitimate argument forfeits any right to be taken seriously, no matter what side of the discussion that person supports.
