Do You Love Yourself?

Posted on | August 5, 2009 |

The relationship we have with ourselves is mirrored in the relationships we have with others.

If you’re wondering why your outer relationships are a bit scrambled, look inward first; similarly, if you’re confused about your relationship with yourself, take a look at what’s occuring with your interactions with others.  It’ll give you useful clues. For instance: if you have trouble finding love in your life, ask yourself how much you love yourself.  You may find you don’t even like yourself as much as you thought! If you eat junk food, stay out too late, don’t look after yourself and your finances - - the chances are you’re acting on the assumption that you don’t think it’s worth looking after these important aspects of your life.  And if that’s the case, you’re not being very loving of yourself.

Deepak Chopra put it slightly differently, but with great clarity, when he said: You can’t fix the world if you can’t fix yourself.

The way forward is to see both worlds as interdependent. Let the outsode world give you feedback about the interior world, and let the interior world guide your outward behaviors.
