Video Interviews, and Soul Work
Posted on | July 12, 2009 |
I’ve been doing some video interviews with Baptist de Pape today, as he moves into the next stage of producing his movie, ‘The Powerful Wisdom of the Heart’. I’m honored to be included, and I’m also so very delighted to talk with Baptist about things that are very dear to my, well, Heart.
Baptist is a wise and gentle soul; one of the finest. He asks wonderful penetrating questions, too.
It seems to me that whenever people get together and talk about the heart in this way, and about how to open it up and keep it open during trying times, we all get just a little stronger and more alert. Like any activity, living in mindfulness, gratitude, and from the heart is ultimately a practice, something we have to keep reminding ourselves to do. Like meditation, or Yoga, or exercise, we have to keep on reminding ourselves to do it - and not to give in to the many distractions that want to lead us elsewhere. The body needs exercise, and so does the soul. You wouldn’t go on a marathon after not exercising or training at all for months. Yet people think they can go for a weekend retreat and find their soul-center without even breaking a sweat. I think the work can be started in that way, perhaps, but on the whole it’s better to be in practice beforehand…
I’m optimistic that Baptist’s film will generate a lot of energy around a topic that we all need to pay more attention to - how to live from the heart so that we don’t succumb to the delusions of the head. This is going to be a fun project!
